Help! I am being blocked by Google!?

Just another day in the live of a (ASP.NET) developer. If you are anything like me that you spend a considerable time of your day researching, and of course... Google is one of the tools of choice here..... Or is it?

Well... I think I must have done something wrong, because Google doesn't like me anymore. When searching for "asp.net jquery webcontrols" I got this message:

If you want to see the "live" version of this message, click here.

It took me some time to realize that no matter what I tried (different browser, search from virtual machine), it boiled down to that all my searches that included the text "asp.net" would result in the same error.

Now, usually i am not someone that sees conspiracies everywhere.. but this seems to be very weird. Google blocking searches for ASP.NET? Are they planning to release their own server side language? Who knows, why would they stop at the browser?

Are you really an MVP or did you Photoshop yourself in there ? :)). Sorry - I couldn't help it. The queries are working on my side of the world.

uhm.. yes i am an MVP... for ASP.NET even ;)... and you are right... the searches are working at my end again as well.... so it might just have been a glitch...

Works fine over here!

Got the same error

This happens when you perform a lot of queries on Google within a short time frame. Just wait for 15 minutes and you'll be fine again. It Google's way to prevent automated queries from overloading their engine.

@Peter Thats hilarious.... surely 1 person cannot generate enough queries for google to think you are a bot? I know i am addicted to google, but i cannot see myself generating more than 1 query per second.... i'd imagine a bot would generate way more... anyhow.. its quite annoying to be blocked like this, luckily it never happened since...
